Randy Wiens
Born 1965
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
Born 1965 in Alberta Canada. Randy grew up around the mountains and prairies of the Canadian west.
"Growing up in western Canada and spending time in it's rural and wilderness areas has given me a passion for landscape. Seeing the art of the Group of Seven, Van Gogh, Dali and Picasso helped to shape my vision.
The Kinetic nature of our surroundings constantly inspire and awe. At times the sheer scope of a place can be disquieting and uneasy. There is solitude and a certain fear of the unknown along with the beauty and flow. The way clouds and sky can influence the land below. I find my world intense, in constant motion and almost overwhelming. This is what I seek to express in my work."
